K.R. Engineering does not offer refunds on purchased items EXCEPT in the case of duplicate purchases. A duplicate purchase is defined as accidentally purchasing the same product twice or more times within a reasonable, very short time period. This can occur because of server or viewer glitches at the time of purchase. If this happens, please contact us and we’ll be happy to fix the issue.
There are several reasons why we do not offer refunds:
- All of our items are accurately represented and described in detail, either on their vendor, on their Marketplace page, or via in-world display models (see example below).
- All of our items that have scripted functionality (e.g. games) dispense detailed informational notecards, which you can receive by clicking the relevant vendor in our in-world store. Our games are also available in the store to play with before purchase, so you know exactly what you are getting before you buy.
- If an item turns out to be broken for some reason, we will repair it or replace it with a working copy. We do not offer refunds for something that can be fixed.
Again, to make sure that our policy is clear: Duplicate purchases must be made within a reasonable, very short time period to qualify for a refund. This may range from seconds to days, in some cases. Purchases of the same item made within weeks, months, or years of each other do not count as duplicate purchases.
We may allow you to exchange a duplicate purchase for another game if you alert us to the matter within one week of the most recent purchase. Please see this article for more information.
The current generation of K.R. Engineering products (launched in 2018) have copy/no-transfer permissions. Therefore, most items that still have no-copy/transfer permissions are, at the very least, several years old. As a broad policy, we do not accept any items for return.
We also will not “buy back” any of our products if you decide to leave a virtual world for any reason, including moving to an OpenSim grid.
